Memoirs of a BaddGrrl

Current mood:  The current mood of baddgrrl@baddgrrl.com at www.imood.com

8-18-2000 Friday

I am definitely in better spirits today.

Look what an anonymous fan sent me today!

There was no name in the attached card, just this message:

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds."
-
Albert Einstein.
You are a great spirit. Thank you for sharing your life with us

Thank you to the anonymous stranger for brightening up my day!

And thank you to Daryl Nishimiya for sending me this hilarious comic strip.  All the folks at SpotLife really enjoyed it.

8-17-2000 Thursday

I seem to be getting a lot of visitors from the UK recently.  I'm wondering if there was a show or news item that mentioned my website.  I did the interview and video taping with Now.com in the UK but I don't know if that clip is live on their site yet.   Does anyone know if there was something about my site in the UK this past week?

Ok, I'm less grouchy right now so I'll take back what I said earlier.  I was actually composing a really cool annoucement for SpotLife earlier which I'll post now.

NEWS FLASH!!

SpotLife software and service is now bundled with all Kensington cameras!  So now everyone that buys a Kensington camera is going to get SpotLife too!

And if you haven't already heard, all Compaq Presario computers are bundled with Logitech cameras and SpotLife!!

We're getting these great partnership deals and hopefully someday Personal Video Broadcasting will be synonymous with SpotLife!

I hope that one day everyone that buys a digital camera is going to be broadcasting on SpotLife.   My dream is that we will be the CableTV of the Internet.  People will be able to go to SpotLife, see all these channels and choose what they want to watch LIVE at that moment.  Whether it's a sporting event, a show about ballroom dancing or simply a live camera pointed at a local pet store.

ANYTHING will be broadcast live on SpotLife so that no matter what your interest, hobby or business is, you'll find something to watch.  AND anyone can become a STAR!   You could have your own talk show, become a model in your own fashion show, star in your own movie, the possibilities are endless!

I'm really excited about our company.  Can you tell?

You can check out what is Live Now on SpotLife.

Still stupid people emailing and writing messages on the MessageCam.  I'm hopeful though that they will slowly go away.   Of course, I do ban the idiots from my MessageCam when I can.

Now if only I could get rid of the idiots that already have my email address and send me email after email.  Now how many emails would you send to someone without getting a response before you finally give up?  Two? Twenty? Fifty?! I mean really, what are they thinking?

"Hmm, I've sent her over 20 emails and she hasn't responded.  Maybe I should stop. Maybe she thinks I'm pathetic. Maybe I'm a loser who should get a life rather than sending countless emails to someone who really doesn't give a damn what I have to say.... NAH! I'm just gonna send MORE! Yeah, that's it!!"

Something that I've learned from having this website is that there are some really sad, stupid, disgusting, lame people out there.  And they are so clueless that they actually think I would want to hear what they have to say.  I don't.

8-16-2000 Wednesday

Over the past few days I have been inundated with stupid emails from the stupidest people.  And some real idiots have been posting messages on the MessageCam.  Argh. Why are there so many stupid people on the Internet?  I've decided to make it more difficult for people to find my email address.  I know stupid people will still find it but at least they will have to move through several pages of text before getting there.

Two screen captures from today...

It is again freezing in this office.  Argh.

Dave and I are level 26 in Diablo II and we're in search of gems...

8-15-2000 Tuesday

A screen shot from yesterday.  This is my daisy dukes outfit. He he.

And a screen shot from today...

A huge word of thanks to Michael from Havas Interactive for sending me a Diablo II t-shirt and poster!  Yay!

I did install Red Hat Linux on an old system the other day.  It installed fine but for some reason in X Windows it's not recognizing the mouse. It recognizes the mouse when booting up Linux but once it gets into X Windows, I doesn't seem to see the mouse. I'm wondering if it's because it's a PS/2 mouse and I'm using an adapter to plug it into a serial port. Argh. I also don't have time to fiddle with it just now. I also plan to set up another Linux box at home.  Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet...

Thank you to David Webb for sending me this screen shot.  It's rare that I get a screen shot from someone that doesn't catch me making a weird face...

8-13-2000 Sunday

I put up a new web album on Friday...

Check it out on SpotLife!

It's been a very mellow weekend.  Stayed home on Friday and played Diablo II with Dave Lau.   Then Saturday morning went to buy my gun, a .38 Super.  I got a Safariland holster instead of the Limcat.  Still haven't gotten my mag holders yet.

I decided today that I would make a special page to thank all the people that have been so generous to me over the past few years.  I created a 'Thank You' page as a tribute to them for their generosity.

Special Thanks to...

As I was going scanning through pages in my journal, it brought back a lot of memories.  Wow, I can't believe I've been keeping this journal for over two years now.  That's almost daily for over two years that I've been sharing details of my life with people out there.   It's changed a lot I know.  I used to talk about my feelings a lot more.  I used to be more open, more emotional.  But I discovered that when I do, a lot of people seem to feel compelled to comment and make their own assumptions and it would just annoy me.  People who seem to think they know me just because they see me and read about me every day.   It's understandable, yes.   But you can't really think that you actually know someone that you've never met.
