5-4-2000 Thursday Nite Argh! The Love Virus kicks my butt. I received a few emails with the virus but didn't open them so my PC was not infected. I was affected by it though because two of my coworkers did open their files and their PCs got infected. And one computer that had some stored files that I was using got hit, so the files I needed were corrupted and I didn't want to touch them. So bottom line, I didn't get any work done today. Grrrrr. I spent most of my day trying to get to McAfee's website to download the lastest DAT file for my Anti-Virus software. The thing is, even after I put the DAT file in my McAfee directory with all the other DAT files, it still didn't seem to update the VirusScan with the latest update. Weird. Welp, needless to say, the updates to SF.SpotLife didn't happen today but hopefully early tomorrow I can get it done. Sorry folks. I did get a chance to grab two screen captures today before all the chaos broke loose. I wore my "Red Dragon" shirt today...

Here's a funny pic that my friend Gabe sent me the other day...
___________________________________ For some reason, everyone left work early today. At 8:30pm, Curt and I were looking at each other going, "Where is everyone?" So Curt decided to call it a day and I reluctantly agreed to leave work since I don't like being the only one at work at night. It was a frustrating day because I didn't get much done at all. One good thing about being so busy and tired from work, I don't have much time to think about other things like... "HIM". Barely have time to talk to him really. Could that be a good thing? 5-4-2000 Thursday Morning Oh yeah, forgot to mention that yesterday morning at 6:45am, Doug the Neighbor of the SF.SpotLife house called to tell me someone had strewn toilet paper all over the front of the house. Since I'm the producer, I'm responsible to make sure everyone is happy and that includes Doug the Neighbor. So I had to call the people in the house to ask them to clean it up. I said I'd be by to help them in a little while but by the time I got out of the shower, I got a message that Robin and Jessica had cleaned it up already. for doing a great job and getting out of bed so early to take care of it!
5-3-2000 Wednesday I'm on a roll, a journal roll that is... Hard to believe especially with my 12 hour work days but for some reason, I'm motivated to write more. I even took a couple of screen captures today. I realize now I need to take these first thing in the morning because later on in the day I'll get way to busy to remember. Why do I look so perturbed? Dunno...
Bet you didn't know I was a contortionist... nah, but oddly enough, this is a comfortable position for me. I'm actually pretty flexible. Oh and yeah, there go those slippers... hee hee.
Another
zealous fan wrote to me today: What
to do when she looks at you? Not
really waiting, just following the lines of her face. Enjoying Not
really communicating, just watching without understanding her. Suddenly,
she turns and looks at me. Her shoulders square as she She
leans forward, tilts her head, and rests on her hand and elbow. But not from me, one of the many strange, quiet odd guys. Finally, she turns away and does not look back. Her
attention wasn't what I really wanted, but, now that it's gone, I've been watching this afternoon. Thank you. c t nez
Hmm, is this a trend? Are my viewers starting to get poetic here? __________________________________________ So now in addition to managing all the computers, cameras, and people for SF.SpotLife, I'm now doing the HTML for the site. Actually I'm pretty happy about this because now I have control over how quickly things get updated and the look and feel of the site. I'm trying to make some major improvements there so it looks really awesome and it's compelling to the viewers. Look for some cool updates to SF.SpotLife on Thursday. __________________________________________ The temperature in the office is much more tolerable now, at least for me. However, an alert viewer caught this screen capture of one of my coworkers blocking off another vent...
Guess I started a trend. 5-2-2000 Tuesday Nite Yup, SpotLife has launched and now the Search for the New Roommate for SF.SpotLife is on! If you or someone you know wants to be the 7th roommage at SF.SpotLife, check out the site and you can join:

Click here for the full story __________________________________________ So very, very tired. Work is busy as usual but things are going really well. I had to stop by the SF.SpotLife house tonight to fix the audio on one of the cams. The traffic to that site is really picking up and I hear the people there have their regular "fans" now. I'm really excited about the direction our company is going. Lots going on. And then next week we're moving yet again! We were supposed to move this Friday but that's been pushed to next week. So just a word of warning, some of my office cams may be down temporarily while we move and set up. __________________________________________ I'm trying to stick to this Low Carb/High Protein diet. I barely eat rice, pasta or bread. I try to eat a lot of meat, veggies and tofu. I lost a couple pounds but I think I just have to keep it up for a couple of weeks. Steve
emailed me yesterday after reading my journal about playing basketball
this weekend, he wrote: Well, that was only the first game, the other two games I didn't do as well. I think I should stick to shooting from the outside. __________________________________________ I received this today from a very earnest fan, I guess he thought I had banned him from the MessageCam but I think the cam was just down temporarily... **Sung to the tune of B.B. King's "The Thrill is Gone." The thrill
is gone, Baby, She set
up an Office cam, now, Baby, Loved to
send her messages, Baby, Loved to
try to make her laugh, Baby, Can't get
to that message board, Baby, The thrill
is gone, Baby, Oh, yeah..... __________________________________________ What else is going on? Well, I'm starting to wonder if HE might read my journal so maybe I better not say too much. I am glad that we're talking and well, right now it's a good thing. Stay tuned...
5-2-2000 Tuesday SpotLife lauches!! It's official, SpotLife.com has launched and now we're doing the big PR release. Now our software is bundled with all Logitech QuickCam Express, Home and Pro cameras. I heard that people are already spotting our signs and logos at the stores. Fry's in particular. We had a flyer designed which we gave out at Internet World. You can't really tell from the image below but the boy's eyes are black and on the flyer they had this weird hazy look to them. I told my coworkers that he looked like the demon child and I started calling him Damien. Since we got back from Internet World, everyone's been calling him the demon child or Damien. My boss hates that. Every time I say Damien he glares at me and says "Birthday Boy, he's the Birthday Boy". Yeah yeah yeah, he's still the Devil's spawn if you ask me.
Someone check that kid's scalp... there's a 666 in there somewhere, I know it. __________________________________________ Speaking of evil incarnate... what's going on with "HIM" is the question on everyone's mind. Ok maybe it's not on everyone's mind but sometimes it's on mine. Nothing new. Haven't seen him lately. I'm just goin along, seeing what happens... 5-1-2000 Monday I fixed it! I fixed the freezing office problem! At least in my area of the office. I stood on top of the desks (I do that a lot around here actually) and I blocked off another air vent.
I had already blocked on off one a few weeks ago...
But it was still really, really cold. But now that I blocked off both of them, it's much better. Other people in the office are still freezing and they've been asking me to block off their vents for them. Sheesh. I said, hey there's some cardboard, here's some tape, block off your own vent dude! ___________________________________________ So I set up my Linksys Router and man does it rule! It was soooo easy, only took me 5 minutes from the time I took it out of the box til the time I had it installed and up and running. In 5 minutes I was able to get my PC and my laptop both using my DSL line with dynamically assigned IPs. Woohoo!
___________________________________________ What did I do this weekend? Not much really. Saturday I worked all day. Special project. It was such a beautiful day too but I really wanted to finish it. But I went out on Sunday and played basketball with Steve, Teddy, Jansen, King and Craig. I've got to remember to bring my video camera next time so I can make some video clips of us playing hoops and post them up on SpotLife. ___________________________________________
I had a meeting at 8am this morning. Aiya. I actually got in at 7:30am. Aren't you proud of me?
Big
yawn.
