4-3-2000 Monday

Wow, I knew it had been a long time since I updated but it's getting pretty sporadic isn't it?   Well ok, as you know I've been working a LOT.   Long hours, late nights and sometimes even on the weekends.   The majority of my time is spent on SF.SpotLife.    I could go on for hours and hours about it but let me give you a brief summary...

7 people (ok now 6 but that's another story) all living together in one house, 10 live cameras (with streaming audio and video) on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   It's like MTV's RealWorld except it's all LIVE and unscripted.   This has been my project since day one.  My second day on the job, I found the house.  The perfect house in San Francisco for this project.    Then after that, the Roommate search began.   I ran around the Bay Area posting flyers, taking out ads in the local papers and posting on the Internet looking for interesting, eclectic and talented people.   Then with the help of my friend and coworker Michele, we sorted through over 200 applications and narrowed it down to about 30 or so people.  Next came the auditions.  We had each person come in and do 15 minute shows and introductions of themselves and we videotaped them.   And finally, we chose the final 7.  And they are...

Robin and Erika

Robin is the blonde, the painter, the heart and soul of SF.SpotLife in my opinion.  Robin is always there in the house.  Her life is painting and her passion shows in her work.   She's a beautiful, amazing person.   She's always happy, upbeat, encouraging.   Robin's helped me so much these past few months and I really appreciate her and her spirit.   She keeps things going there at SF.SpotLife.   Catch Robin on Cam 2 every day where you can see her painting in her workspace in the house.

And in the red hot dress behind Robin is Erika.  Erika is the filmmaker and actress.   So young and yet she has a maturity about her.   She's also really, really funny.   She always suprises me with her wit and her ability to tell a really great story.   And oh yeah, she's sexy too  :)

"So, this is kinda a new chapter in my life for me. The house is live and I guess I expected things to be a lot different, but they aren't. I mean, I still come out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my head. The only difference might be that now that we're live, I might actually see Mark, Justin, and Kristin more than once or twice a month. For awhile now, it's been this core group of me, Robin, Parker, and Jessica., and I've gotten pretty used to that group. There's a definite level of honesty there, which is something I greatly respect in all of them. " - Erika

And here is Jessica (in the white), yes she was in Playboy but she's more than just a hottie.  She's smart, wickedly funny and she has this spontaneity that refreshing, shocking and hilarious at times.   Watch Jessica and the rest of the SF.Spotlife roommates on their rise to fame.

City Party Girl!   She's already got a following as Kristin, City Party Girl and her party pals.   Kristin is a former 49er cheerleader, bright, vivacious, savvy, gorgeous and very witty.  Obviously she's a lot of fun, how many people would dress up as a schoolgirl to satisfy her friend's fetish... well actually 20 other girls got together with Kristin for a birthday party for their friend Morgan.  But you gotta admit, she's a great sport for doing it.

Mark!   Dude!!  
Mark is a freelance writer, children's book author and a metal head.   Is that the proper term for it?  I love Mark's sense of humor and he is so animated.  I can just sit back and watch his facial expressions and laugh my head off.  You just gotta love Mark.   He's the best.  He's one of those people that everyone really enjoys being around.  Yee-haw!

"This has been the week of glory for the in-house metal maniac. That moniker will follow me to my grave now that my weekly chats are filled with loud rock, beer and people tuning in to see what dumb activity I may do next. One night I used sparklers instead of words and another I downed a Sierra Nevada in 5 seconds. OUCH! Well, it's all in the name of entertainment for my teeming mass of fans. All 3 of you." - Mark

Anything goes on the Parker Show! 

So my boss thinks I have a secret crush on Parker.  Not true!  Sure he's a cutie but no I don't have a crush on him :)   But I purposely put him last so no one thinks I'm showing favoritism.  Hee hee.  What can I say about Parker?  Parker is so full of energy and excitement.   There's always something going on when Parker's around.  He's also quite talented.   You can catch him playing the piano or guitar on the live cams around the house.

"Spotlife is the name and it's also my game! I've always had a keen eye for life, a sense of humor and a list of dreams a mile long. Lately though I've sharpened all my senses and have repeatedly stabbed myself with the knife of adventure. I must be wearing a sign that reads "introduce yourself and your ideas to me because I can make the difference" because everywhere I go lately I'm meeting the most interesting people, having the biggest grins spread across my face and leaving every situation with a new friend." - Parker

Well I did say we had 7 roommates didn't I?  Well the 7th roommate was Justin, the circus performer.  Unfortunately Justin was not able to fulfill the terms of the contract for the SF.Spotlife project and he's leaving the house.  So... now we'll need to find a replacement for Justin.  Soon, the search for the 7th roommate will begin.  Stay tuned...

Ok, so it's now 3am and I'm leaving tomorrow on a business trip and I won't be back until Friday.  I won't be on the OfficeCam but I may be on a cam while I'm away.   In the meantime, go and check out SF.Spotlife because those people are on the cam 24/7 with live audio and video.   

Watch over for these guys for me when I'm gone.   I worry about about them; who is going to take care of them while I'm gone?!   :)
