Memoirs of a BaddGrrl

9-17-99 Friday

Wow and I thought I had lighting problems.   I caught Fredlet on the FredletCam today.   She later changed the angle on her cam so I could see her forehead better.   Twinnie!!!

Just FYI , no I didn't cut my hair, I just put it up today.   I'm not ready for the short and sassy look yet.

I was going through some of my old email messages today and saw this from a visitor:

Subject: stuff

Do not give me the finger, but if the camera is on all the time how do you
avoid not being seen changing or taking a bath.

I had to laugh.   I was like, Dude I am at work in my office.   Do you see a showerhead above me?   Do YOU change in public while you're at work?

And even on my homecam (which is almost never on anymore) I don't have a shower/bathtub in my bedroom.   My carpet would get all soggy and moldy.

I finished putting up the black background to block out some of the light.  I think the view has improved a bit, don't you?   There's still a glare on my face but it's better than that ghostlike, translucent look I had before.  And I don't think I can block out much more light here, my co-workers will kill me for depriving them of sunlight.

Need to wish a big ole Happy Birthday to my friend Evelyn.   Hmm, maybe I'll take a pic of her to post up here, I need some new pictures...

And it's also Larry Wong's birthday too!! What a coinky dink!

Happy Birthday Larry!!!

Lookin good!

Hey, I wanted to get everyone's opinion on a larger image on the Cam.  I've always used a smaller 160x120 image to keep the refresh rate faster but now that I have a faster machine/connection I can get a great refresh rate even with a 320x240 image.  It would look something like this:

Except I won't always look cross-eyed.   Let me know what you guys think, bigger image on the cam or keep it the same size?

I was able to get a screen grab of my last 5 frames, pretty neat even if the shots are kind of blurry.

I'm still working on changing the lighting of my cam.   It was funny, my mom sent me e-mail today saying that it was nice to have a blue curtain behind me.  Well, it's actually a long strip of black paper but hey, it works.   Mom also caught me eating lunch on the cam.   She thought I was eating a bigass burger but I told her it was a salami sandwich.

I got an ICQ from Mare this morning telling me how kickass the refresh rate was on my OfficeCam.   Well, she didn't use those exact words of course.   She said the refresh rate was awesome.   It's practically streaming!  Have you guys checked it out recently?

Hey, Charity of Charity Cam signed my Guestbook today.  She just started her site about 3 months ago and it looks great.  Go take a peek and say hi.

9-15-99 Wednesday

Wow, another 2 weeks without any updates to the Journal. Somebody spank me.

Well I've been super busy with work and weddings.  First, Judy and Bryan's wedding on Sept 4th.   It was an awesome wedding. The most emotional one I've ever seen.   Everyone was crying.   Including me of course.   Good thing we all had kleenex handy.   It was an outdoor wedding and the weather was perfect.

All the bridesmaids stayed overnight at the hotel with Judy the night before and we woke up early to go get our hair and makeup done.   I didn't take any pictures myself because I forgot my camera but as soon as we get some of the pictures in, I'll post them up here.   Well, after I get everyone's permission first.

I must say, Judy and Bryan both looked gorgeous.  They were a picture perfect wedding couple and it was an honor for me to be a part of their wedding.

Then last weekend, my cousin Loretta got married to my new cousin-in-law, Tom.   It was also a very beautiful wedding.   The ceremony, reception and banquet were all at the Ritz Carlton in Marina del Rey (Los Angeles).   It was so much fun.  It was hilarious watching my mom dance.   Very cute Mom!  Loretta and Tom looked great.  Their gonna have very cute kids :)

So now it's back to work for me.   I've been so busy I've barely had time to keep up with my friends much less maintain the Journal.   I have set up the OfficeCam again, at least the main one.   I've been having problems with the lighting though because I have all these windows behind me.   Today I put up something to try to block the light.   I know it looks funky right now but I've been told that we have some shades/curtains coming in soon.   I hope so or I'm gonna go blind from the glare soon.

I know, I look very ghostlike.  Let's hope we can improve on this when the curtains arrive.

On the media tip, did I mention the Mademoiselle article got put off?   The reporter told me they may publish it at a later date.  I'll keep you all posted.

Apparently, the BBC re-aired the segment they did on me.   I've had many people tell me they saw it recently.   A lot of people from India.

Well more to come soon...
