The Journal - June 6 - June 12, 1999

WOW!! I am stunned and amazed at the kind-heartedness and generousity of people out there. Someone must have read in my journal that my poor little Palm Pilot Pro died several weeks ago. I never did go and buy another Pilot. Then today to my utter shock and amazement, I received an anonymous package and when I opened it, there was a brand new Palm III inside!!!

Much thanks to the kind soul who sent me my new Palm Pilot Organizer. Once again I am Pilot enabled.

And after Hot Synching my Pilot, I noticed in my Datebook that today is Kamehameha Day.

Commemorates the victories of Kamehameha I (1758-1819) of Hawaii. He and his descendants united and ruled the Hawaiian Islands until their annexation by the United States in 1898.

I was talking to Brian of The Yams last night on ICQ and he mentioned something about Shireen and Josh. Shireen and Josh?! So I rushed over to Shireen's site and this is what I saw in her 6.09.99 updates page:

Argh, is this brazen Canadian vixen trying to steal away my little Joshiepoo? (The green-eyed monster rears it's ugly head.) No, I will not have it!

How can she possibly think she can accomplish this when she is waay out there in... um where the hell is she exactly? Well wherever she is, she can't have him!

Does she know that Josh and I have spent countless hours together. Ok, well maybe they're countable. And maybe they're not that many, but still! I've ridden in his car before. I've helped him navigate through the streets of San Francisco. I've given him bad directions. Has SHE done that? I think not.

And of course there was that one time at a bar in a crowded restaurant where Josh and I reached for the same pretzel stick and our hands brushed against each other. There was chemistry there. I know. I felt it. I know he felt it too.

Shireen, did I mention that Ian is single? You know, since he moved to Venezuela he's got that "Mambo King" thing going on. You should definitely check him out...

It's currently 8:40am Pacific Standard Time and the eBay site is down, you can't bid on anything even though you can get to the main eBay page.

So my little muffin-top and I had our first fight yesterday. He called and our conversation basically ran like this...

Lorraine: I think you're chauvinistic and sexist.
Ian: No I'm not.
Lorraine: Yes you are.
Ian: No I'm not.
Lorraine: Yes you are.

And had we been face to face I guess this would be the moment where we fling ourselves at each other in a mad passionate embrace. But in reality, him being on the East Coast and me here in sunny California, the "Yes you are", "No I'm not" debate continued on for another 2 hours.

Still, Pookie Bear and I decided that he would continue to carry our love child and he will give birth in Venezuela, denying our spawn US citizenship but giving it the right to trade otherwise questionable goods throughout South America.

By the way, I didn't win the $80 million dollar Lotto yesterday. In case you were wondering.

I'm still trying to get over this dreaded cold that has been lingering on for over a week. Ian and Fredlet's diagnosis that I have "cooties" really doesn't do me much good. But thanks for the feedback guys. Really.

I caught a few minutes of the show "The View" this morning and they said the Hot Poll Topic today was "What kind of breast is best?"

A new e-mail worm spreading globally: 'ZippedFiles' or 'ExploreZip' spreads like

Espoo, Finland, June 10, 1999 - A new e-mail worm has been found and is spreading rapidly through the Internet. This virus works like a chain letter and carries a destructive payload. So far, it has been reported from a dozen countries, including USA, Germany, Norway, Israel and the Czech Republic. The virus is expected to spread globally within hours.

This virus is known as either 'ZippedFiles' or 'ExploreZip'. It arrives to a user via an e-mail attachment. When the attachment is opened, the virus will browse through the inbox of the Microsoft Outlook e-mail program and will send a reply to every message.

So I missed getting together with Bryan and Judy while they were back in SF. They've been coming back here fairly regularly since they moved up to Portland. But, unfortunately I was in LA while they were here this past weekend. Hopefully we can all get together soon. I'm still determined to enlist everyone in a game of Naked Twister or Strip Mah-jong. So far my efforts have been thwarted. But I will not continue to be disparaged. Someday Naked Twister will be a standard at all social gatherings. I proclaim it to be so. So shall it be written. So shall it be done.

So my little Mochi Ball, Ian is melting away in the New York heat. Poor baby. Will there be nothing left of him to return to me in August? Sniff. Oh well, he had more of a "green tea" flavor and I'm partial to the mango and strawberry flavors. C'est la vie.

Thanks and a "shout out" to Cindy who signed my guestbook saying she heard someone give a shout out to ME on a local radio station here in SF, 94.9 KYLD.

The next BaddGrrl media blurb should hopefully be an article in Mademoiselle magazine. Or an interview that will be featured on About.com. I don't know which one will come out first. More details soon to come...

Where is my schmoopy? Ian is still gallivanting around New York getting all hot and bothered. And without me yet. The nerve.

I'm still trying to recover from my cold. I was sick while I was in LA. Coughing and sniffling the whole time. I slept a lot too. But it was great seeing my family again. It was especially nice spending time with my cousins Eddie and Loretta and soon to be cousin-in-law, Tom. I'm looking forward to going back down there for Loretta and Tom's wedding in September.

I need to get some rest. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
