1-7-2000 Monday 1:00pm Again I want to thank everyone for all their emails. I guess I forget how many people read my journal since most people just come to read and rarely email me about my entries. But over the past few days I've been inundated with well wishes and empathetic stories about how they were also laid off. I mean, RIF'd. I was talking to my brother last night about using the term RIF to try to put a better spin on things and make it sound less negative. He said, "No spin can make up for bad strategy." I thought that was pretty quotable. Everyone knows that 3 signs of a failed/failing startup are: 1. Poor revenue
model Judy, Mike and Mike also work at startups so we spent some time Saturday night talking about our experiences and they shared their worries about the climate of the economy, dotcoms and their companies. So this year is going to be interesting for all of us...
