Still in class today.   I actually feel like I'm learning something.  Although a lot of it is review of basic networking stuff, the Win2000 stuff is pretty new to me.   Even though it's built on the Win NT architecture, there are a lot of differences.   I'm a little worried since I'm not really familiar with Win 2000 and my network knowledge is very rusty.

Thank God I have my Ricochet modem here.  I'm the only one with a Internet connection here.   All the machines are networked locally but can't connect to the outside world.  What would I do without my email and the web?!

I'm hoping my company will let me take the rest of the classes but I have a feeling they won't let me take all of them since each class lasts about 5 days.  Not to mention the cost. I really think it'd be in their best interest to let me take all of them.   But even though I am employee number 5 and traffic from my website helped build the company, I always get the feeling I'm not appreciated here.   Hence, I doubt they'll let me take many more classes. Sigh.

I'm in a Windows 2000 Networking class today, tomorrow and Wed.  My first hopefully of several so I can finally get my MCSE.   I hope I can get my certification by early next year.   Guess you won't be seeing me on the cam for the next few days.

Yay it's Friday!  I'm back in the office today.  They roof dudes were at my house all day yesterday.   By 4pm I gave up and took a nap.   By the time I woke up, they were gone.   They drove away with my old roof.  I hope I have a new one up there...

I decided to fire up my Palm III after months of non-use.   Ever since I got my Nokia phone I never needed the Palm which I would use primarily for phone numbers.  Did I tell you I had gotten an adapter for my old 28.8 Ricochet modem so I could send email from my Palm?  Never really used it though.   Now I have the new Ricochet for my laptop.   Man that thing is awesome.   Although it says the speed is 128k, if you use the USB port for the Ricochet, you can get up to 450k.   At least that's what I've seen so far.  If you use the serial port it's more like 115k.

I highly recommend it.   $99 for the modem itself and $75 a month for the service.

I have roofers here pounding away putting in a new roof on my house. Which is a good thing except for the fact that they blocked off my driveway and I can't get out of my garage so I'm stuck at home.   Oh well.   I'll be working from home til I can get out.

I'm back from Hawaii!!   Did you miss me?  Ok, I was very bad and didn't take any pictures.   Didn't even want to bring my ghetto Sony DSC-F1 with me.   But the good thing was that I had a great time lounging around by the pool and playing crazy pool games with Dave Lau and Wes.   One of the best vacations I've had in a long time.   I also got to hang out with Lance, Lil, Kazu and Juri on Thursday.   That was a very funny evening.  I'll tell you more but I think Dave would kill me.  Hehe.

Sigh, the whole time I was hanging out at "the mansion" I kept thinking "this is what life is like on the other side".   I finally get to see how rich people live.   The people who own the house in Hawaii only stay there a few months out of the year.   Can you imagine?

Guess I'll just keep playing the Lotto and hope someday I can afford my own mansion.   *big sigh*

Apparently Pets.com got pooped on big time.   Seems like they are going down.  Another dot com bites the dust.   Yikes.   

But I'm not afraid.   SpotLife will always do well... as long as they have me working for them.  Hehe.

Now if only they would pay the electric bill so we don't have to work in the dark...
